Harry Kane failed to score from a penalty kick during his first match following his Ballon d'Or victory.

The England star believed he had atoned for the error by setting up Dayot Upamecano for a potential Bayern Munich winning goal.

However, Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-2 draw thanks to a late equalizer from Fabio Silva.

It marked an emotional return at the Allianz Arena for the player named the best player in the world on Monday.

Kane walked out of the tunnel carrying his golden trophy.

His family, including his wife Kate and children Ivy, Vivienne, Louis, and Henry, waited on the pitch with the team members.

He took a microphone and addressed the supporters, saying, "I'm extremely proud to be a Bayern player."

He added, "The support you've shown me since I arrived is incredible. I'm extremely proud to present this to you. I hope to win many more titles with you." He then said in German, "Danke!"

Dortmund supporters jeered the presentation, and Jobe Bellingham received a yellow card within five minutes for pulling down Alphonso Davies.

Michael Olise hit the post shortly after, while Bellingham forced Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig into a save.

Dortmund relied on goalkeeper Gregor Kobel to make a save moments later as Ismael Saibari broke through.

Bellingham thought he had put Dortmund ahead in the 34th minute after Carney Chukwuemeka intercepted a pass from Upamecano, but Chukwuemeka was flagged for offside.

Konrad Laimer put Bayern ahead four minutes later by scoring on the rebound after Kobel blocked his initial shot.

Kobel stopped Laimer early in the second half before Kane won and missed his 55th-minute penalty kick.

The England captain struck the ball against Felix Nmecha's raised hand from a corner kick.

Kane took a stuttered run-up and hit his penalty against the crossbar, allowing Serhou Guirassy to score and level the match for Dortmund five minutes later.

Kane atoned by heading the ball across the box for Upamecano to push over the line in the 65th minute.

Kane later hit the post and sent another shot narrowly wide.

Substitute Silva capitalized with an 89th-minute equalizer, shooting low into the bottom corner.

Bayern unsuccessfully appealed for a VAR review regarding a foul by Aleksandar Pavlovic, while Lennart Karl hit the crossbar in stoppage time.
