Manchester United target Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to sign a new contract at Leeds, according to reports. The England striker, 29, emerged as a shock target for the Red Devils earlier this week. Man Utd chiefs are keen to bring in a new forward amid Benjamin Sesko's injury woes. But a swoop for Calvert-Lewin appears to be off the table.
According to the BBC, the former Everton ace has agreed to extend his deal at Elland Road. Calvert-Lewin's current contract is set to expire in 2028. The 14-cap Three Lions star has revitalised his career since quitting Everton for Leeds in 2025.
Having scored just three goals during his final campaign on Merseyside, Calvert-Lewin bagged 14 last season. The target man's form saw him earn an England recall, earning his first cap in five years back in March. He has also enjoyed a productive start to this season, scoring four times in eight Prem appearances thus far.
Sesko's injury has left under-pressure Man Utd boss Michael Carrick short of options up top. Carrick has largely had to make do with makeshift strikers Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, while Joshua Zirkzee has largely remaining on the bench. Man Utd have scored just 10 goals in eight Prem matches so far this season. And five of those came in one game against Ipswich, the Red Devils' only league win to date.
Having been given a stay of execution by club bosses, Carrick is set to take his side to Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Bruno Fernandes is likely to be back in his starting XI, following clear-the-air talks.
