Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal led a Central Development Working Party meeting that evaluated and cleared a Rs. 17.012 billion initiative to expand and upgrade a 39-kilometer portion of National Highway N-45 connecting Chakdara and Timergara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Officials sent the road proposal to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for ultimate clearance. Foreign funding via Exim Bank is anticipated for the undertaking.

This Chakdara to Timergara segment belongs to a vital northern transport route linking Chakdara, Timergara, Dir, and Chitral. Planners designed the highway expansion to boost driver safety and ease transit for drivers.

Better access to northern locations like Kalash, Shandur, and Kumrat should additionally back commerce and vacation travel in the region.

This highway plan was part of 14 development schemes evaluated by the Central Development Working Party during a session discussing proposals totaling Rs. 226.48 billion.

Final clearance from the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council remains necessary before work on the road scheme begins.
