Federal authorities cleared plans for an eight-lane flyover bridge at the Imamia Colony Railway Crossing situated on National Highway N-5 in Shahdara, Lahore, carrying an estimated price tag of Rs. 7.492 billion.

Approval for the undertaking came from the Central Development Working Party, and the plan also encompasses building and repairing linked roadways.

Easing traffic jams in Shahdara Town through better vehicle flow near the railway crossing stands as the main purpose of the construction.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal led the Central Development Working Party meeting where officials evaluated this infrastructure scheme alongside 13 other nationwide proposals totaling Rs. 226.48 billion in estimated expenses.

Various other major development and infrastructure proposals, such as solar energy, irrigation, and road initiatives located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underwent evaluation during the same session.

Available information does not mention any construction start date or expected finish schedule for the Shahdara bridge.
