GERWYN PRICE returned to his day-job tasks only a few hours after his disappointment at the European Darts Championship.

The 41-year-old, known as the Iceman, began the tournament in Dortmund with strong victories over Rob Cross, Cameron Menzies and Stephen Bunting, securing a place in the semi-finals.

His run stalled there when he faced world No 14 Ross Smith.

Price posted an average of 93.69 but could not match Smith, who prevailed 11-7.

Price seemed unfazed, posting a upbeat message on social media soon after.

He wrote: "(I would) have lost in the final anyway.

"Onto the next, great weekend for me again."

Smith later captured the title, beating Martin Schindler 11-8 in a tense final after the German rallied from 2-8 down.

Price, however, had already shifted focus, adding a grimacing emoji and saying: "Back to farming tomoz."

The darts star bought a farm in February, planning to refurbish the property, move his family there and keep some livestock.

The farm is one of several properties he has bought, renovated and sold, using his darts earnings as a side business.

When SunSport asked about his off-stage activities earlier this year, Price said: "Be a farmer. Pick up some sheep. Chuck about some cows.

"I have done it loads of times where I have built properties or renovated them.

"Sometimes it can help and take your mind off darts. It stops you thinking about certain things too much. It will be good for me."
