To tackle empty leadership posts in schools throughout the province, the Punjab administration is evaluating the recruitment of 1,600 headmasters for public educational institutions with a suggested monthly pay of Rs. 150,000.
Applicants will face a written test administered by the Punjab Public Service Commission, according to the draft strategy, with interviews to follow. Chosen applicants will receive initial two-year contracts that could see extensions depending on work performance.
Insiders note that over 2,000 state-run schools in Punjab currently lack permanent headmasters. The proposed employment campaign seeks to cover 1,600 of these open slots. Still, the hiring strategy, pay scale, and agreement conditions remain under review and must secure official clearance from the appropriate cabinet committee prior to the start of recruitment.
