Medical and dental institutions violating admission regulations, missing merit list deadlines, or failing administrative duties will face steep financial penalties under the Medical and Dental Admission Policy 2026 released by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council on Monday, according to 24NewsHD TV.
Institutions that postpone their merit lists will incur a penalty of Rs500,000, alongside a daily charge of Rs50,000 for every extra day the delay continues.
When colleges enroll students past their designated capacities, they must pay a fine matching the yearly tuition fee for every extra student, and their available slots may face a fifty percent reduction in the following admissions cycle.
Late student registrations carry a penalty of Rs50,000 per person, delayed graduation reporting costs Rs75,000, and tardy annual exam result submissions cost Rs30,000.
Institutions will be billed Rs100,000 for late notification of student withdrawals or transfers, while any breach of fee regulations results in a Rs200,000 penalty.
Additionally, the council instituted mandatory digital reporting via its official online portal for all universities, colleges, and students.
Acquiring a full license now requires completing a mandatory one-year house job, and teaching hospitals must deliver completion certificates to the council within 10 days.
Before any financial penalty is applied, schools receive a formal notice and a chance to explain their case, though habitual infractions can trigger admission bans or further legal steps.
