Labour politicians have placed their employees on standby due to expectations of an early general election arriving in May of next year.
Intense gossip regarding an early vote began after Andy Burnham presented a first Budget that omitted answers to major economic questions.
The new Prime Minister intends to release a ten year plan in December addressing long term issues such as the social care crisis.
Politicians within the Labour party are increasing their readiness ahead of a potential announcement in the spring.
One anonymous Labour politician stated, "I have told my staff to prepare for a May election."
The same politician added, "Andy Burnham is a winner and that is his appeal."
They continued, "But next May Labour will lose a lot of council seats."
The politician concluded, "He will not want to be seen as a loser, so I think a May election is the most likely."
A second Labour politician stated, "The election is May Day for sure."
