Syed Abdul Raheem Sherazi, the Chief Traffic Officer in Lahore, recommended compulsory medical evaluations for motorists together with vehicle fitness checks in order to reduce traffic crashes.
Sherazi asked for special medical testing desks at Mian Munshi Hospital and Services Hospital to check drivers for psychological health, night blindness, color blindness, and poor vision.
Safe operation of vehicles requires physical health, according to the CTO, who cautioned that color differentiation issues and vision defects can lead to crashes. He also asked for mobile medical units at transport terminals and bus stops to check the health of drivers.
The suggested steps will let officials spot drivers who lack medical fitness and stop crashes to save lives, Sherazi stated. This plan broadens safety checks on roads past vehicle examinations to encompass the physical and mental health of motorists.
