Fresh shipments of Liquefied Petroleum Gas reached Lahore, lowering elevated costs according to ARY News reports.

New inventories entering the municipality pushed the cost of LPG down by Rs50 per kilogram. Even after this decrease, the commodity remains expensive at Rs550 per kg.

Area fuel merchants stated that another price drop is anticipated today based on the recent deliveries. The official government price for the commodity is set at Rs279 per kg.

Residents stay worried because the gas costs nearly twice the authorized government tariff. Previously, the rate climbed to Rs550 per kg, nearly double the Rs279.34 per kilo rate established by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.

Irfan Khokhar, chairman of the LPG Distributors Association, stated that gas firms applied excessive charges while high demand fueled illegal profiteering.

He noted that nationwide data shows the fuel selling between Rs500 and Rs600 per kilogram, cautioning that rates might climb higher if deliveries face interruptions.

He questioned market stabilization without enforcement of official tariffs and demanded action against alleged black-marketing and responsible parties.

Surging fuel expenses increased pressure on buyers following gas outages, placing heavy strain on low-income families amid high living costs.
