Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson, 27, was rushed to a hospital and examined for internal bleeding during last night's game against the Carolina Panthers. During the second quarter, Watson sustained a suspected severe injury after a collision while making a 53-yard catch. An ambulance transported the NFL player to a nearby medical facility for additional evaluations.
Miraculously, the athlete managed to get back on the field in the third quarter. Video footage captured Watson wearing his full uniform as he stepped out of the transport vehicle inside the stadium. He started jogging slowly toward the pitch, receiving a warm welcome from supporters and colleagues as he came out of the tunnel.
Watson completed the match as the leading receiver, contributing to a 27-19 victory for his team. Following the match, Watson stated, “I never wanted to go [to hospital], I was hoping they’d let me off.”
He continued, “They said there were a couple of signs that made them want to take me over there, so I was just praying it was good enough that I could come back out here.”
Watson added, “Luckily it was... I’m happy to be out here on a football field. There was no internal bleeding [nothing] that was raising suspicion. I cleared everything and I was able to get back out.”
Spectators expressed amazement at the surprising return of the player. A social media user posted, “CHRISTIAN WATSON HAS COME BACK OUT IN WWE UNDERTAKER STYLE!” Another person posted a joke asking, “Why does it feel like I’m watching professional wrestling?” A third individual posted, “What in the WWE?” Another social media user commented, “WWE type of stuff”.
