Master Changan Motors Limited marked a major production milestone in Karachi on 27 October 2026 by holding a line-off ceremony for the Nevo Hunter, which is Pakistan's first locally assembled REEV 4x4 truck.
MCML transitioned from equipment installation to production rollout in under 90 days, setting up a dedicated body-on-frame REEV assembly line to expand advanced new-energy technology across more vehicle segments in the country.
As the initial vehicle launched under the NEVO brand in Pakistan, the Hunter introduces Changan's mass electrification goals to the truck market. Introduced at The Next Leap earlier this month, NEVO operates as a core brand within Changan's House of Brands to deliver intelligent and future-ready new-energy vehicles to a broader audience.
The dual-motor powertrain uses Changan's global NEV truck platform to produce 322 hp and 529 Nm of torque, reaching 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The REEV system pairs electric driving with extended range capabilities, supported by a multi-link independent rear suspension, a 63 dB quiet cabin, panoramic dual screens, ventilated seats, and advanced safety features.
A 31.18 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery includes an IP68 waterproof rating and five-layer protection, offering DC fast charging from 30 percent to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
The 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load system converts the truck into a mobile power source for worksites, emergencies, and trips, delivering up to 227 kWh of energy under full-fuel and full battery conditions to run a 1,000W setup for more than nine days.
Constructed on a high-strength body-on-frame ladder chassis with intelligent 4x4, the vehicle provides a payload capacity of 1,010 kg and a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes, alongside electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and hill-descent control.
Priced initially at PKR 10,990,000, the truck allows C-SUV buyers to transition to a truck lifestyle while retaining daily comfort. High demand resulted in full bookings through February 2027, and deliveries have started on schedule.
Mr. Danial Malik, CEO of Master Changan Motors Limited, stated: "The NEVO Hunter redefines the truck segment with the comfort, capability and range confidence customers had been asking for. With local production and deliveries underway, a new era of electrified trucking lifestyle in Pakistan is now beginning."
Buyers can purchase the NEVO Hunter across Changan's nationwide sales and aftersales network, which features dedicated EV service capabilities.
