The Pakistani rupee (PKR) ended Monday at 276.81, up one paisa against the US Dollar, extending its rally for a 269th straight day.

Currency markets moved sharply after Pakistan revived attempts to halt the Gulf War. Earlier reports said Field Marshal Asim Munir travelled to Tehran on Monday, after which officials from Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey convened at an undisclosed venue to discuss ending the conflict promptly.

The rupee has been posting gains versus the dollar since December 25, 2025.
