Tennis player Sania Mirza provided a piece of land in Hyderabad, India, to build a mosque instead of constructing the tennis academy previously intended for the property. She also promised to finance the entire construction process.

A different purpose for the land

This choice addresses the neighborhood demand for a close prayer space. Property originally designated for athletic use will now become a mosque, and Mirza is supplying the ground along with the money for construction.

Azharuddin lays foundation stone

Ex-Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin recently participated by laying the initial foundation stone for the mosque. Mirza agreed to fund the total building expenses, expanding her gift past just the land parcel.
