Swat police have stepped up a district-wide operation targeting vehicles and motorcycles with fancy number plates, tinted windows, flashlights and missing registration, officials said.
The action follows directives from District Police Officer Mohammad Umar Khan, with checkpoints set up at several points across the district under the supervision of the relevant station house officers.
Officers are inspecting vehicles and motorcycles for breaches and taking action against violators. DPO Khan said every citizen must obey the law and warned that enforcement of traffic and vehicle regulations will continue.
He explained that tinted windows are prohibited and that no permit or authorization for their use has legal validity.
The DPO called on citizens to remove tinted glass, flashlights and fancy number plates from their vehicles and to ensure proper registration. He added that public cooperation is essential for maintaining law and order and building a peaceful, orderly society in Swat.
