Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan missed the ODI tri-series final against Sri Lanka at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore due to medical concerns.
The Pakistan Cricket Board stated that Shadab was unavailable after taking a blow to the head from a bouncer during Pakistan's fifth match of the tournament against Sri Lanka.
An official statement from the board confirmed that medical grounds kept the all-rounder out of the final match following the incident.
At the toss, where he chose to field first, Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi verified that Shadab was absent and named Faheem Ashraf as his replacement in the playing XI.
This absence follows a strong showing against England in the fourth match, where Shadab made 113 runs from 96 balls with 13 fours and five sixes.
That innings pulled Pakistan out of a tough spot at 154-9 while chasing a 242-run target, and he added an unbroken 84-run stand with Haris Rauf for a thrilling one-wicket win that put Pakistan into the final.
Sri Lanka altered their playing XI by bringing in Maheesh Theekshana for Eshan Malinga.
