The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has served notices to several religious seminaries in Islamabad, alleging they built without an approved plan.

According to the notices, the madrasa carried out construction without a sanctioned building plan.

The CDA instructed the seminary administration to submit the required construction plans within 15 days and warned that failure to do so could result in the building being sealed.

The authority said the premises contain unauthorized construction on mandatory setbacks and additional structures on the rooftop.

CDA also objected to the building being used as a seminary rather than for residential purposes and directed the administration to remove all identified violations within 15 days.

This action follows a separate notice sent to Maulana Fazlur Rehman's residence in Islamabad over alleged illegal construction and encroachments.

In that case, the authority ordered the removal of unauthorised structures built on mandatory setbacks within 15 days and warned that non-compliance could lead to sealing or demolition of the illegal structures.

The notice also cautioned that failure to comply could result in the building being sealed, financial penalties and cancellation of the property's allotment.
