Pakistan is preparing for a major change in its high-end motorcycle sector as Buraq Automobile builds a local assembly facility for high-displacement bikes from Italy and China. The firm currently serves as the official Pakistani distributor and importer for Moto Morini, Benelli, and QJMOTOR. Previously, all of these high-end motorcycles entered the country strictly as Completely Built Units, but the company is now shifting to Completely Knocked Down assembly work.

Mobeen Ahmed, the CEO, shared details about the new facility during a recent interview. Building work on the assembly factory is scheduled to wrap up in December 2026. Following that, the initial batch of locally assembled bikes will launch publicly in January 2027.

Bringing EFI Technology To Pakistan

Buraq Automobile will stand as the initial manufacturer to locally assemble Electronic Fuel Injection motorcycles inside Pakistan. This update moves the domestic market away from traditional carburetors. EFI systems fix standard carburetor troubles such as engine missing, which occurs when the air-fuel mixture is uneven or fuel flow inside the carburetor fails. These systems also offer better horsepower, quicker acceleration, and strong fuel efficiency.

While Pakistan currently lacks a large workforce of EFI mechanics, Ahmed believes customers will adopt the technology quickly. He draws parallels to the car industry's shift to EFI vehicles two decades ago.

Confirmed Models And Rollout Phases

Moto Morini, the Italian maker, will anchor the opening phase of local assembly. Production starts with the high-end Alltrhike 450 adventure bike, followed shortly by a 300cc Moto Morini adventure motorcycle.

Buraq also intends to assemble a second major global motorcycle brand, with the secret name to be revealed soon.

Significant Price Drops For Consumers

Moving from imports to domestic assembly brings down import taxes. Buraq Automobile plans to transfer these savings to customers, lowering retail prices by roughly 23 percent.

Prices might decrease further down the road. The government draft Auto Policy 2026-31 suggests reduced taxes on internal combustion engine motorcycle kits. Should the government clear a 10% tax cut, Buraq will hand those savings over to buyers.

Domestic motorcycle manufacturing has traditionally depended on Japanese names like Honda and Suzuki, while Yamaha left the market in 2025 and Thai manufacturer Royal GPX arrived in 2026. The domestic assembly of high-end EFI adventure motorcycles will transform the local industry.
