Oppo is preparing substantial enhancements for the camera setup of its upcoming flagship device, the Find X10 Ultra, based on a recent leak detailing the alleged hardware specifications that include a pair of 200MP rear cameras alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto lens providing 10x optical zoom.
An anonymous source shared these details, indicating that Oppo is also contemplating a major enhancement for the front-facing shooter. Market release for the Find X10 Ultra is anticipated during the first half of next year, even though specific hardware decisions are still pending.
The main camera on the rear will pack a 200MP resolution paired with a 1/1.12-inch sensor and LOFIC technology, according to the leak. A second 200MP periscope telephoto camera will use a 1/1.3-inch sensor, while the third rear camera is due to deliver 10x optical zoom.
For selfies, Oppo might introduce a 100MP camera using a square 1:1 sensor, representing a substantial leap from the 50MP front shooter present on the current Find X9 Ultra. The main sensor bears the HPA/HPU designation, pointing to Samsung's ISOCELL HPx family, though the company has not locked down the sensor choice for the 200MP periscope camera yet.
Testing also continues regarding options for the 10x optical zoom camera, where the manufacturer favors a 1/1.95-inch sensor. Manufacturing bottlenecks might compel the brand to opt for a smaller 1/2.76-inch sensor instead.
This scenario aligns with a previous report stating that Oppo experimented with two large 1/1.95-inch sensors for the 10x zoom hardware. The final decision will ultimately dictate the extent of enhancements for long-range photography.
By comparison, the Find X9 Ultra debuted in April carrying a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.12-inch sensor, alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto camera featuring a 1/1.28-inch sensor.
Consequently, rear camera improvements on the Find X10 Ultra will likely center around LOFIC technology and an enlarged sensor for 10x zoom. Nevertheless, the integration of the larger zoom sensor relies on whether preferred hardware achieves mass production schedules.
The front camera stands to provide the most apparent modification by doubling resolution from 50MP to 100MP. Specifications remain subject to modification prior to official release since several months remain for final hardware determination.
