HP introduced the Star Book Air 14 in China, a 14-inch OLED touchscreen laptop powered by an Intel Core 5 320 processor and advertised to run up to 42.5 hours on a single charge. The device, featuring an aluminum body, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, can be reserved for roughly $740.
The same model is sold abroad as the OmniBook 5 14, starting at $699.99.
Design and Display
The Star Book Air 14 sports a 14-inch OLED touchscreen with a 1920 × 1200 resolution and 10-point touch capability. It holds TÜV hardware low blue light and HP Eye Ease certifications to lessen eye strain during long sessions.
Its chassis, made of aluminum alloy, is only 11.77 mm thick and weighs 1.16 kg. A 180-degree hinge lets the screen lay flat, and the lid bears HP's slash logo.
Four colour options are offered: Starry Blue, Ash Silver, Peony Pink, and Cantaloupe Green.
Hardware and Performance
Inside, the laptop runs Intel's Core 5 320 chip from the Wildcat Lake family, coupled with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD.
The same processor appears in devices such as Lenovo's IdeaPad Slim 5i and the upcoming Redmi Book 16 2027, according to a Geekbench listing.
Battery Life and Connectivity
A 60 Wh battery is said to provide up to 42.5 hours of use, though real-world endurance will vary with workload and conditions. Connectivity includes two full-featured USB-C ports and an HDMI 2.1 output.
The laptop also has a Full HD infrared camera, dual microphones, Windows Hello facial recognition, Poly-tuned speakers, and DTS Ultra-certified audio.
Price and Availability
Reservations for the Star Book Air 14 in China start at about $740. Internationally, the OmniBook 5 14 begins at $699.99, making the Chinese version roughly $40 pricier.
