Islamabad Traffic Police announced that Lehtrar Road near Khanna Pul will be closed from October 31, 2026, because of ongoing construction work. The diversion scheme will stay in effect until further orders.
Commuters are urged to take other routes to avoid inconvenience and delays.
The diversion plan directs traffic coming from Tramri Chowk, Lehtrar Road, and Alipur to use Faizabad, Rawal Dam Chowk, and Park Road as alternatives. Motorists heading from Khanna Pul toward the Express Highway are advised to travel via Ghauri Town and Link Road.
Officials also recommend leaving for destinations 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual to allow for possible delays.
Traffic police officers will be on site to help commuters and control flow while construction continues.
