Professional snooker returns to China this week as the International Championship begins in Nanjing, bringing numerous major competitors to the table. Judd Trump leads the group traveling to East Asia, with the competitor aiming to reclaim his position as the top-ranked player globally. Trump dropped to fifth in the world standings after forfeiting £500,000 in prize money because the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters left the schedule. Current world champion Wu Yize enters as the defending champion in Nanjing, having claimed his initial ranking title at this venue by defeating John Higgins in the match. Ronnie O'Sullivan skips the trip to China, causing the competitor's place inside the top 16 to slowly drop as he selectively chooses tournaments. Still, the roster features major competitors including Mark Selby, John Higgins, and Neil Robertson.
