A fraudulent website mimicking the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has targeted local students by demanding Rs10,000 per subject to clear examination papers.

This deception emerged when a bogus results portal surfaced on Google search engines, leading students to a WhatsApp contact line where operators purportedly offered to alter or clear scores for cash.

Women managing this helpline posed as board staff and instructed pupils to deposit funds into private bank accounts for grade modifications, as per reports.

The swindlers supposedly guaranteed that grades would be revised within 24 hours after receiving payment.

Reports indicate the bogus site went offline for purported maintenance after gathering millions of rupees from learners.

Meanwhile, BIEK Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho rejected any links between the institution and the scam portal.

He advised pupils to locate and use the official board portal for data and phone numbers, cautioning them to ignore uncertified web pages.

Lakho stated that the board repeatedly notified the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency concerning the counterfeit portal and mailed an official letter requesting intervention.

Board representatives cautioned pupils and guardians against paying anyone promising to modify, clear, or boost test scores for money.

Authorities also told students to steer clear of unverified web addresses and WhatsApp contacts while verifying all testing details via official pathways.
