Ahead of Basant 2027, officials found 271 unsafe buildings in the Walled City of Lahore after checking about 10,000 structures located across five wards.
Lohari Gate registered the maximum total with 95, while Taxali Gate followed with 57. The ward that includes Akbari Gate and Delhi Gate contained 52 hazardous properties, whereas Bhati Gate showed 43 and Yakki Gate reported 24.
About 22,000 buildings exist throughout nine wards in the Walled City, based on statements from officials. Crews are still conducting checks in the other four wards.
This survey seeks to spot dangerous properties so public servants can execute proper safety steps to safeguard citizens and stop mishaps prior to the celebration.
