Authorities in Punjab decided to halt buying new official cars powered by gasoline and diesel, initiating a gradual transition of state vehicles toward electric models.
This policy seeks to cut down air pollution, advance cleaner transit options, and decrease dependence on petroleum goods.
Bilal Akbar Khan, the Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, will supervise the conversion, and the Transport Department will assemble a complete database of cars used by state officials to direct the procedure.
In the meantime, planners finished design work for 236 electric vehicle charging stations in Lahore. Officials are weighing subsidies to back the charging network and will draft a special incentive package to motivate private investors to set up charging stations.
The planned network should stimulate electric vehicle usage in Lahore and generate hundreds of jobs as the infrastructure grows.
