Luis Suarez stopped to take a photograph with the son of Glen Johnson during a meeting at the Messi Cup.
Fort Lauderdale hosts the youth competition at the stadium of Inter Miami, the club where Suarez plays at age 39.
Kobi, the teenage son of Johnson, currently plays in the academy of Chelsea.
The teenager traveled to the United States because the Blues joined the invitational event.
Suarez, a close friend of Lionel Messi, arrived at the grounds to motivate competing youth players.
During the event, Suarez walked over to Kobi Johnson near the pitch for a picture.
The forward from Uruguay stated, "I played with your dad, I've known you since you were little!"
Afterward, Suarez and Kobi posed together for the photograph.
During his three and a half years at Anfield, the productive scorer shared the pitch with Johnson.
They claimed the League Cup together in 2012 and nearly secured the Premier League title during the final campaign of Suarez in England.
Kobi has represented Chelsea from a young age.
Glen, his father, shared in a 2019 interview with talkSPORT, "My young one is at Chelsea's academy and we see Jody Morris over there, it's the Under-8s!"
Glen added, "Them boys are well off in terms of the timeline, but they're looking at all of the age groups and building bridges up to the first team."
He also noted, "Normally the first team is miles away from the academy and none of the kids will ever get an opportunity."
