Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko will miss the remainder of the year due to a persistent shin problem that has restricted him to six appearances across all competitions this season. The Slovenian international initially picked up the issue last term and played through it for the final two months of the campaign.
Club staff intend to keep the 23-year-old sidelined past the New Year to support his healing process and prevent potential surgery. The £74million player struggled to cope with the debilitating issue, which first flared up during pre-season.
Manchester United has not yet released an official statement regarding the fitness status of the player. However, supporters voiced their frustration on social media about the situation.
One supporter posted on X, saying, “Good job INEOS signed a backup striker in the summer.”
Another user commented, “United summer window goes from below average to being a f***ing gigantic joke.”
Another added, “Great squad building from Ineos btw 👏👏.”
A further remark stated, “Well done [Jason] Wilcox and the rest of the clowns for this squad building👏🏻. Whole fanbase said sign a left back and striker and would you look at that Sesko and [Luke] Shaw are injured all the time.”
One more fan stated, “Brilliant from United all round. No striker at all in the squad until at least January, fantastic planning by Wilcox, this. Also, how have we managed to handle this Sesko injury so badly?”
