A pair of gamers can now play through the iconic 2005 action-horror title together. On October 13, developer Darksoul309222 published the Resident Evil 4 Multiplayer Co-Op Mod on Nexus Mods. Both participants occupy the same game world at the same time. They battle Las Plagas-infected villagers and Los Iluminados cultists together to rescue Ashley Graham. While the recent remake serves as the definitive version, this fan creation offers longtime players a compelling reason to replay the 21-year-old game.

Resident Evil 4 Multiplayer Mod Limitations And PC Compatibility

Split-screen is not used in this modification. Instead, the software drops both users into the exact same environment. Both individuals must control Leon Kennedy, meaning the second player cannot select characters such as Ada or Ashley. Users need PC version 1.1.0 without any modifications to the executable file. The cooperative add-on works alongside most other current mods, and the creator intends to expand compatibility in upcoming patches. A comparable multiplayer mod is also available for the recent remake.

Capcom officially brought cooperative play to the franchise with Resident Evil 5, followed by Resident Evil 6, Revelations 2, and Operation Raccoon City. Modders have now brought that cooperative gameplay style to the 2005 original. Capcom also plans to launch a $1,699.99 Leon Kennedy diorama later this year. The company confirmed Resident Evil Veronica is in production, while insiders leaked a Resident Evil Requiem DLC. PC players can now experience the Spanish village campaign with a partner.
