Pakistan Fuel Sales Rise 10 Percent In October 2026

Oil marketing companies in Pakistan recorded total sales of 1.48 million tons in October 2026, with total industry sales increasing 10 percent month over month from September's 1.35 million tons, according to data compiled by Arif Habib Limited. This rebound provides a temporary respite for the energy sector, though broader annual comparisons show lingering challenges in consumer demand. Market watchers track these monthly figures closely to gauge economic activity, transport sector health, and industrial power generation demands.

Despite the monthly surge, total sales are still down 1 percent year over year. Excluding furnace oil, industry sales declined 5.9 percent year over year, while increasing 10.3 percent month over month. The annual contraction was primarily driven by weaker demand for petrol and diesel, with higher fuel prices weighing on consumption across the country.

Cumulative Fiscal Year Performance For Pakistan Oil Sector

Cumulative sales during the first four months of FY27 reached 5.59 million tons, representing a 4 percent increase compared with 5.39 million tons in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. This steady fiscal year growth suggests that despite short-term monthly volatility and inflationary pressures, baseline energy needs continue to expand slowly over the medium term.

Economic planners monitor these four-month metrics to evaluate macroeconomic stability and industrial output. The transport and logistics sectors rely heavily on steady fuel supplies, making these cumulative volumes vital indicators of national economic health.
