Medical staff and physicians working in medical facilities throughout Punjab must now wear standard attire, following a new mandate from the Punjab Healthcare Commission.

The commission released these directives on Friday pursuant to Section 4(2)(o) of the PHC Act 2010, applying the requirement to every worker at Category-I and Category-IIA medical centres across the province.

Physicians must wear blue attire, medical support personnel need to use green clothing, and lab technicians are ordered to wear white coats. Cleaning personnel must also put on designated standard clothing.

To lower infection risks, the regulatory body instructed medical workers to choose short-sleeved clothing and banned employees from wearing their work attire outside medical facility grounds.

Medical centres throughout the province received orders from the commission to strictly enforce the new dress code policies.
