Private vehicles belonging to lawyers, judicial staff, and judicial officers must strip off unauthorised symbols and custom number plates within a seven-day window, following an order by the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court.

Friday's directive, announced by the Sindh High Court Registrar, covers cars driven by legal professionals and court employees.

Owners must take off green plates, government logos, monograms, blue lights, stickers, badges, flags, inscriptions, flashers, revolving lights, along with fake government or AFR plates.

Official symbols and illegal plates on private cars create false impressions of state privileges and present serious security dangers, according to the registrar.

Lawyers, judicial officers, and court employees must obey the law, the Chief Justice stated.

Rule 76(f) of the Sindh Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Rules 2017 covers exemptions for specific vehicles.

Any non-compliant vehicle will lose access to the Sindh High Court, City Court, and district and sessions courts after the seven days expire. Police action under the law also awaits motorists who break the rules.
