Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi instructed authorities to quickly start restoring the ancestral houses of iconic Bollywood actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor located in Peshawar. This order was issued during a gathering focused on developing and restoring historical sites and tourist locations within the city, where Kundi demanded speedier heritage preservation and improved visitor amenities.

Participants at the session included Adviser for Development and Planning Usman Saifullah, Tourism Secretary Saadat Hassan, and other key officials. Staff members updated the governor regarding Peshawar's cultural and historical importance, current and future development schemes, along with proposals to encourage heritage and night tourism.

Peshawar embodies centuries of culture, civilization, and history, according to Kundi, who stressed the necessity of showcasing the city historical background to draw both local and foreign travelers. He urged the launch of dedicated tourist buses to enhance access to heritage sites and instructed staff to exhibit the old fire engines and vintage ambulance kept at Gor Khatri in an appropriate public viewing area.

The governor instructed teams to place large informational displays close to the Peshawar Motorway Toll Plaza to acquaint travelers with the cultural spots and historical locations of the city. He highlighted how cultural events matter for safeguarding the literary heritage, arts, and traditions of Peshawar. Expressing approval for current preservation work, Kundi stated that upgrading tourist amenities and fixing historical monuments will support the strengthening of the cultural identity of Peshawar.
