The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) was honoured with the 2026 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Leadership in the Prevention of Vehicle Crimes Award for its advanced technology and innovative policing methods aimed at vehicle-related offences.
Managing Director Muhammad Ahsan Younas accepted the accolade at the IACP Annual Awards Ceremony held in Orlando, Florida, United States.
The award acknowledges PSCA's deployment of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered security systems, smart surveillance cameras and digital monitoring tools that help stop vehicle theft, flag suspicious vehicles and aid police investigations.
The authority also employs AI-based surveillance to spot vehicles carrying fake, cloned or tampered licence plates.
Younas attributed the success to the combined efforts of Punjab Police and PSCA staff, noting their dedication to enhancing public safety through modern technology.
PSCA called the award a proud moment for Pakistan and reiterated its pledge to make Punjab safer.
