Travelers holding Pakistani passports can receive a tourist visa upon landing in Qatar, permitting stays up to 30 days without prior paperwork, as long as they meet specific entry criteria.

Several mandatory conditions apply to travel documents, finances, lodging, and health coverage. Passengers should finalize these preparations prior to departure from Pakistan to prevent airport issues.

Financial and Travel Requirements for Pakistani Visitors

To qualify for this entry method, applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Financial Proof: Travelers must show at least QR5,000 in available funds or an equivalent amount through a valid credit card.
  • Passport: The passport must have a minimum validity of six months at the time of arrival.
  • Return Travel: A confirmed return air ticket is compulsory.
  • Polio Immunisation: Passengers travelling directly from Pakistan must carry a valid polio vaccination certificate.
  • Business Travel: Pakistani nationals visiting Qatar for business purposes must obtain their visas through companies accredited by the relevant authorities.

Hotel Reservation and Medical Coverage Are Mandatory

Securing lodging and medical policies forms a key part of preparations before leaving home.

Applicants must book their stay through the official Discover Qatar platform rather than using standard booking methods.

Health insurance is mandatory as well. Visitors need to buy coverage for at least one month, with the basic plan priced at QR50.

Approved insurance providers include QIC and QLM. Buyers get an email with their payment receipt and insurance certificate, which must be carried for inspection.

The Ministry of Public Health website also lists other authorized insurance providers.

What Happens After Landing in Doha?

The arrival process at Hamad International Airport includes an extra check before passengers get to immigration.

Visitors from Pakistan must stop at the Discover Qatar desk located ahead of the immigration checkpoint. Staff members review the hotel booking and papers before stamping and verifying them.

Afterward, passengers proceed to immigration desks for visa issuance, eye scans, and biometric checks.

Can Pakistani Tourists Extend Their Stay?

The first tourist visa grants a stay of up to 30 days, though the exact duration may depend on the length of the hotel reservation.

Those wanting to stay longer can request an additional 30-day extension, pending approval and immigration regulations.

A valid return ticket is required for this extension.

Pakistan Embassy Previously Issued a Travel Alert

Visitors should also note a previous advisory released by the Pakistan Embassy in Doha on March 30.

At that time, the embassy reported a temporary halt to visa-on-arrival services for Pakistani nationals, urging travelers to get visas beforehand.

The notice cautioned that arriving without prior visa approval could lead to restrictions or issues at immigration.

Because policies can change, travelers should check current visa rules with Qatari officials and the Pakistan Embassy prior to purchasing flights.
