A surveillance drone struck the outer wall of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) headquarters in Lahore on Sunday, causing panic among police staff on site.
Initial accounts say the drone came from the Jallo Morr side, sped toward the building, hit the wall with a loud bang and then dropped to the ground.
Police and the Bomb Disposal Squad arrived shortly after, sealed off the area, heightened security and issued a red alert before conducting a clearance sweep of the headquarters.
Harbanspura police logged a case based on a complaint by police official Safdar Abbas and launched an inquiry. A CTD official added that the episode is being reviewed from several perspectives.
