Networking And Hardware At The Karachi Expo

Two Cisco executives provided matching responses when asked separate questions on the same day at the Comtech Associates booth. This occurred during ITCN Asia 2026, which concluded its 28th run on September 24 at the Expo Center Karachi. Comtech, a networking and cybersecurity firm based in Pakistan, shared a joint display with Cisco throughout the three-day exhibition. The main highlights included the hardware on show, educational talks hosted by the head of solutions, and on-camera remarks from Cisco leadership.

Cloud Networking And Meraki

Muhammad Irfan Ghauri, who serves as Comtech's Head of Solutions, hosted a presentation on Cisco Meraki that extended past its scheduled timeframe due to high audience engagement. His presentation featured a single browser-based dashboard managing switches, wireless gear, security appliances, and cameras across multiple locations. Key features highlighted zero-touch deployment and rapid setup times.

AI Data Centers And Webex Sessions

Comtech used the exhibition for technical demonstrations through additional presentations led by Ghauri. The AI infrastructure talk addressed the high energy demands of modern workloads, contrasting traditional cooling requirements with liquid-cooled AI racks needing 40 to 100+ kW. Gartner projected data center electricity use at 565 TWh for 2026. Cisco presented its Silicon One G300 switching chip alongside Nexus and UCS systems. Another session covered Cisco Webex, detailing an integrated console for calling, meetings, and messaging with cross-vendor hardware compatibility.

Executive Interviews At The Booth

Muhammad Farooq Zaheer, CEO of Comtech, conducted on-camera interviews with visiting Cisco leaders Mohamad Besher and Kashif Ul Haque. Kashif Ul Haque, the Country General Manager for Pakistan, noted that security must take precedence over artificial intelligence. Mohamad Besher, who oversees the Gulf, Levant, Turkey, and CCA markets, stated that small and midsize businesses represent Cisco's fastest-growing segment.

Market Context In Pakistan

Pakistan recorded high IT export figures for the fiscal year ending in June 2026, with an official target of $10 billion by fiscal year 2029. Local organizations continue to rely on infrastructure providers for networking, data center, and security needs.
