Sources reported that the Establishment Division delivered a summary to the Prime Minister's Office requesting permission to discipline government officials who neglected to file declarations concerning dual citizenship.
The document suggests taking action against personnel holding Grades 20, 21 and 22.
Authorities will serve show-cause notices to the affected individuals after the Prime Minister grants approval. Officials proven guilty of misconduct could encounter delayed promotions, forced retirement or termination from employment.
Out of 2,917 total government employees, 62.5 percent failed to provide the mandatory filings. From the group that filed, just 8.68 percent reported possessing foreign citizenship.
The bureaucrats who missed the filing deadline serve in the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Secretariat Group and Office Management Group.
