Understanding the IESCO Power Disruption Schedule
The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) will suspend electricity in parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Jhelum on Sunday, November 8, with some areas going without power for up to 10 hours. Residents and business owners across the affected sectors must prepare for extended periods without utility service as utility workers carry out essential infrastructure upkeep.
According to the shutdown schedule shared by IESCO, most 11kV feeders will stay off from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM for annual maintenance, construction and development work, and grid transformer upkeep. The longest outage is in Rawalpindi Cantt, where the Islamabad Feed Mill (IFM) feeder near Baga Sheikhan will remain off from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Several other feeders will also run longer than the standard five-hour window. The New GHQ feeder in Rawalpindi Cantt is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while maintenance on the Taxila-HIT 132kV transmission line in Attock is listed from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A second batch of Chaklala-area feeders will be off from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. IESCO has apologized for the inconvenience and asked consumers for cooperation. The same maintenance program also cut power across the region on November 7 and November 4.
Islamabad Operation Circle Outages
In Islamabad, outages cover F-6, G-6, G-7, Tarlai, Rawal, Khanna Dak and Bara Kahu, including Margalla Town, Orchard Scheme, Ghouri Town, Park Enclave, Bahria Enclave and the IT Park. Feeders tied to 132kV F-6 grid transformer maintenance also affect Jinnah Super, Pak Secretariat and State Life.
Neighborhoods reliant on the Orchard Scheme, Mehfooz Shaheed, Shahzad Town, Tramarri, and Sudhran Road will experience localized disruptions during the morning hours. Educational and research institutions such as Comsats University and surrounding areas also fall within the designated maintenance zones. Commercial hubs, including Ghouri Town and parts of KRL Road, will experience stagnant operations while local transformers undergo servicing.
Islamabad 132kV F-6 Grid Station Maintenance
These feeders will be off for power transformer maintenance at the F-6 grid station. The routine intervention targets critical transmission components to prevent unexpected grid failures during peak winter heating demands.
Administrative centers and government offices situated near China Chowk, the Saudi Building, and sections of F-7 will face temporary voltage halts. Similarly, specialized feeds servicing the Pak Secretariat and State Life buildings require total isolation to ensure technician safety during heavy electrical overhaul procedures.
Rawalpindi City Operation Circle Updates
In Rawalpindi City, construction feeders in the Satellite Town division will be shut down from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, including Al-Noor Colony, KRL Complex, Airport Housing Society and Holy Family Hospital.
Medical facilities located within the municipal grid zones, such as Holy Family Hospital, are advised to switch to backup generation systems during the scheduled downtime. Residential housing societies, including Airport Housing Society sectors and surrounding neighborhoods, must make alternative arrangements for household water pumping and basic cooling needs.
Rawalpindi Cantt Operation Circle Schedule
In Rawalpindi Cantt, outages cover Rawat, Mandra, Chaklala, Cantt and Tariqabad areas. The Islamabad Feed Mill feeder near Baga Sheikhan will stay off for 10 hours, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and New GHQ will stay off for 8 hours, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Several Chaklala grid feeders are limited to 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Military residential areas, Askari villas, and administrative headquarters connected via specialized defense feeders will experience staggered cutoffs. Industrial corridors running along the GT Road from Rawat to Mandra will observe temporary halts in heavy machinery operations while local distribution lines receive preventative tune-ups.
Attock Operation Circle Status
In Attock, no 11kV feeder or grid transformer outages are listed, so regular consumers there will not be affected. Maintenance on the Taxila-HIT 132kV transmission line will affect the HIT FECTO consumer grid from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
While domestic households across Attock retain uninterrupted power, industrial consumers linked directly to the HIT FECTO consumer grid must coordinate shift schedules around the seven-hour transmission window.
Jhelum Operation Circle Service Interruption
In Jhelum, annual maintenance feeders in the Jhelum-I division will be off from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, covering Abbas Pura, Kutchery, Ajmal Shaheed and Nougran areas.
Local legal and administrative offices near the district court and sessions judge house will experience temporary downtime. Residents in peripheral villages and suburban quarters dependent on the Nougran feeder are advised to store municipal water supplies ahead of the morning shutdown.
