Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi supervised the demolition of Khanna Police Station, which stood on the greenbelt along Islamabad Expressway, as part of the government's campaign against encroachments and illegal occupation of public land.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Police also joined the operation. Naqvi said the administration had temporarily shifted the police station to an alternative location and allocated a new legal site for its building.
He said no government department, private organization or individual could occupy public land illegally. He added that the government was also reclaiming land occupied by departments under the Interior Ministry.
The minister cited the demolition of an FC camp office near the Marriott Hotel as another example of the government's action against encroachments.
Naqvi said the government would continue its anti-encroachment operations without discrimination and aimed to eliminate all encroachments from Islamabad.
