A woman in the Johar Town area of Lahore was hurt on October 17 after she leapt from a moving ride-hailing motorcycle to avoid alleged harassment, police said.
Police said the victim had ordered a bike from F-2 in Johar Town to Watto Palace. During the ride, the driver supposedly behaved inappropriately, causing her to jump off the moving vehicle.
CCTV recordings reportedly capture the woman springing from the bike and landing on the road, resulting in injuries to her face, nose, throat and head. The rider is said to have fled the scene.
The victim's brother later went to the police, filed a complaint against the driver and a case was opened. No further details about the suspect's identity or the investigation have been released.
In a separate incident in Lahore, Mozang police arrested a man on October 24 for allegedly assaulting a woman riding a scooter on Mozang Link Road. The suspect is reported to have blocked her, knocked her off, slapped her and pulled her hair, leaving facial and nose injuries. Her father lodged the complaint that led to the case registration.
