Meta released a set of new Halloween options and major editing improvements for its Edits video editing app on October 27, 2026, through its creator channels, arriving as content creators prepare spooky videos for the Halloween weekend.
Video clips can now use spooky fonts, animations, and sound effects, including 13 new text animations for seasonal styling on Reels and short videos.
Practical editing tools also arrived in the update, such as beat-synced effects for automatic flashing lights and zoom moves matching music beats, alongside new caption styles, bulk caption editing, and automated color adjustment tools for brightness and color balance.
Audio controls received an upgrade allowing users to raise individual clip volume up to 150% inside a project, providing better mixing control over voiceovers, music, and ambient sound.
Android devices now have access to the carousel editor following its iOS release earlier this month, while desktop support remains in development, making Edits a nearly full video creation studio for mobile users according to Meta.
Nigerian musician Ayra Starr also collaborated with Meta on a new filter to expand the artist-driven effect library.
