Marc White smashed a table twice during a heated half-time rant and now says he wants to repair the soft atmosphere inside Manchester United's dressing room. The Dorking Wanderers manager went viral after video footage showed him losing his temper and threatening a fight with his squad. The club owner argues that Old Trafford players hide behind a failing culture because modern bosses fear challenging them.
White told SunSport that a culture of failure gives players a chance to hide, while managers take the blame and lose their jobs first. He stated he would get rid of bad elements and tell everyone why they were excluded, noting that a manager must be brave enough to take control.
United have changed managers and spent billions in transfer fees since Sir Alex Ferguson retired 13 years ago. White believes corporate owners protect star players for commercial reasons rather than focusing purely on winning matches.
Too soft managers
White criticised how captain Bruno Fernandes was handled during recent matches, stating he would have left the skipper out entirely instead of benching him. He built Dorking from the Crawley and District League up to the National League while serving as owner, chairman, and manager. The non-league chief insists that top-flight managers have grown too soft and are terrified of calling out underperforming players.
Man Utd owners warned
White urged United owners to stop cycling through managers and instead build a long-term strategy lasting three to five years. He also pointed out that successful Premier League teams historically relied on a strong English core, mentioning players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, and Declan Rice. Dorking Wanderers was formed in 1999 and has earned 12 promotions while featuring in a documentary series called Bunch of Amateurs.
