Russian Government Scholarships for Pakistani Students With Monthly Stipend
The Russian government is offering financial support to talented international students studying at Russian universities, including eligible Pakistani students who qualify through the International Open Doors Olympiad. This initiative provides a pathway for foreign students to pursue higher education abroad with substantial financial backing from Moscow.
According to an announcement shared by the Russian Embassy in Pakistan, the scholarship program covers travel expenses, medical insurance, accommodation costs, and a monthly stipend throughout the recipient eligible period of study. The official Russian grant portal confirms a monthly payment of 27,093 Russian rubles for the 2026 to 2027 academic year, subject to academic performance requirements.
Russian Government Scholarship Program Details
The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education provides financial support through the Interobrazovanie grant program. The initiative helps talented international students pursue higher education at Russian universities by reducing their travel and living expenses.
The program supports eligible students from their arrival in Russia until the completion of their studies, subject to its conditions. Students must first qualify through the Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project and obtain the required university admission arrangements under the Russian government education quota.
The grant is separate from the tuition-free admission opportunity awarded through the Olympiad. While the competition grants tuition waivers, this specific program adds monetary allowances for daily living and travel.
Russian Scholarship Benefits and Financial Support
The Russian government provides four main types of financial assistance to eligible scholarship recipients. These benefits ensure that students can focus on their studies without facing severe financial pressure in a foreign country.
Monthly Stipend Payments
Selected grant recipients can receive 27,093 rubles per month during the 2026 to 2027 academic year. However, the payment is conditional on students maintaining good or excellent academic performance. The authorities will provide the monthly financial assistance according to the applicable grant conditions.
Travel Expenses and Transport
The scholarship covers eligible travel costs for students travelling to Russia to begin their studies. The program also provides return travel support after successful completion of the course.
According to the official grant portal, the program operator arranges travel through the shortest appropriate route, including economy class air travel or other approved transport. This ensures recipients can reach their host institutions without paying out of pocket for long distance flights.
Health Insurance Coverage
Selected students will receive voluntary medical insurance coverage during their eligible period of study in Russia. This benefit aims to provide access to healthcare protection while recipients pursue their education. Medical coverage is essential for international students to manage unexpected health costs safely.
Accommodation Support
The program provides financial assistance for accommodation during the student studies. According to the official grant rules, accommodation costs are compensated according to the standards established by the relevant university.
The university also arranges dormitory accommodation for eligible grant recipients. Applicants should confirm the applicable accommodation limits and arrangements with their university before arrival.
Who Is Eligible for the Russian Government Scholarship?
The additional grant support is available to eligible foreign nationals who win or place in the International Open Doors Olympiad. Applicants must satisfy the relevant competition, admission, and grant requirements.
The main conditions include qualifying as an Open Doors winner or runner-up, securing the right to study under the Russian government education quota, and agreeing to full-time study in Russian. Candidates must also accept any applicable preparatory education requirements and complete the prescribed grant agreement.
The authorities will assess applicants according to the published eligibility and selection rules. Winning or placing in the Olympiad does not automatically guarantee the additional financial grant, meaning students must complete all secondary steps carefully.
Available Study Levels and Academic Fields
The Open Doors Olympiad provides opportunities through Bachelor, Master, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral tracks. However, the additional financial grant described by the Russian government specifically applies to eligible students in the Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral tracks.
The Olympiad covers several academic disciplines, including engineering and technology, computer and data science, biology and biotechnology, clinical medicine and public health, business and management, and physical sciences. Other subject areas include economics, education, psychology, environmental sciences, chemistry, international studies, and urban development.
Applicants must select an eligible academic track and subject area according to the official competition rules to qualify for consideration.
How to Apply for the Russian Government Scholarship
The financial support follows the Open Doors Olympiad selection process. Students must first register for the Olympiad through its official website, complete the required competition stages, and achieve winner or eligible runner-up status.
After the competition, the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education processes eligible candidates for admission under the government education quota. The grant operator then informs selected candidates about the additional financial support and the conditions they must accept.
Candidates who qualify must complete the required procedures, obtain the appropriate university admission arrangements, and sign a three party grant agreement. The process also involves obtaining the necessary study visa and coordinating travel arrangements with the grant operator and university.
