Following its merger with Telenor Pakistan, Ufone has advanced close to Jazz within the cellular market of Pakistan, as recent data from September 2026 reveals a mere 0.07 percentage point gap separating the two telecom providers.

Figures regarding cellular market share indicate that Ufone commanded 36.08% of the market during September. Jazz maintained a narrow lead holding 36.15%, which places the two competitors nearly neck and neck in the race for industry dominance.

This transformation stems from the integration of Telenor Pakistan into Ufone. Consequently, the market share of Ufone surged from 15.05% in August to 36.08% in September, substantially boosting its standing within the national telecommunications industry.

The transaction altered standings among cellular providers in Pakistan as well. Ufone climbed out of fourth position to emerge as the primary challenger to Jazz, establishing a duopoly of similarly sized competitors.

Simultaneously, Zong kept its standing as the third biggest cellular provider in the country, although its market portion decreased slightly from 26.83% in August down to 26.78% in September.

The remaining 1% of the market in September belonged to the Special Communications Organization, shifting downward from 1.01% in August. The combination decreased the count of major mobile providers operating in Pakistan while establishing a tight rivalry between Ufone and Jazz for the top spot.

This slim margin may heighten rivalry among the two companies, with pricing, service quality, and network spending staying central. Deployment of advanced mobile technology such as 5G may additionally influence their competition.
