A drone suspected of spying on the Counter Terrorism Department headquarters in Lahore struck the outer barrier of the compound on Sunday, law enforcement officials stated. Police reported that the flying device came from the direction of Jallo More, collided with the perimeter wall, and dropped to the ground, where on-site security personnel quickly seized it.
Cameras Were Still Running
Officers noted that the recording equipment mounted on the unmanned aircraft, along with its battery lights, remained active upon retrieval. Investigators believe unknown actors directed the device toward the CTD base to gather intelligence on internal areas.
Investigation Launched
Officials confirmed that a comprehensive inquiry is underway to determine the identity of the operator and the motive behind the flight. Additionally, CTD security personnel filed a formal request at the Harbanspura police station to pursue legal action. This event follows the Punjab government's recent decision to prolong a province-wide drone ban, coming shortly after Punjab Police thwarted a drone strike in October.
