Pakistan's local mobile phone manufacturing industry has undergone a major shift as VGO TEL climbed to the position of largest domestic handset producer during the first nine months of the year, replacing prior market leaders.

New figures regarding locally built devices indicate that VGO TEL manufactured 2.50 million units from January through September. Infinix placed second with 1.96 million devices put together, and Itel took third by assembling 1.59 million units.

Other key contributors featured TECNO with 1.16 million devices, Samsung with 1.04 million, and Vivo with 0.99 million. Nokia along with other notable domestic brands sustained consistent production levels throughout the timeframe.

These results show a complete change from prior years. During 2024 and 2025, Infinix regularly claimed the number one position for local assembly due to strong buyer demand for budget smartphones. Yet, changing rival tactics and aggressive market positioning enabled VGO TEL to secure the top rank during the recent tracking period.

The continuous growth of domestic manufacturing capacity has altered the telecommunications network in Pakistan. By cutting down dependence on costly commercial imports of ready-made products, local assembly facilities now build most of the mobile phones bought nationwide. Analysts state that the continuous performance of these domestic facilities will depend on parts supply, steady exchange rates, and competitive pricing methods.

While domestic labels expand their output capacities, competition among local producers stays intense. The rapid growth of VGO TEL shows that the mobile assembly sector in Pakistan is maturing fast, providing buyers with various domestic choices while building up the national technology manufacturing base.
