Pakistan faces continuous cyber attacks around the clock and remains a prime target, according to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Chairman Major General Hafeez ur Rehman on Thursday.

During the closing ceremony of Cyber Security Awareness Week, he reported that citizens frequently get fraudulent calls and One-Time Password messages while thousands of fabricated videos circulate nationwide.

The Federal Board of Revenue is currently working on this problem, according to his statement, while the telecom sector stays vulnerable and authorities encounter bogus threats. He advised citizens to avoid sharing unverified content.

Organizations including NADRA, PEMRA, and the PTA have upgraded their infrastructure to block intrusions, he mentioned, stressing that proper policies and public education are required to protect the nation's digital path ahead.

Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, also spoke at the event and advocated for new rules to keep up with fast-changing social media and technology. He highlighted the importance of teaching the public about fake news and digital platforms.

School, college, and university curriculums should feature digital education and update accordingly, Tarar stated, noting that youngsters need instruction on defending themselves against online dangers.

The government needs to engage with stakeholders, organize training sessions, and make sure cyber safety details get delivered to every resident, the minister remarked. He pointed out that multiple teams currently handle the problem, but the work must go on.

He concluded that young individuals, especially Gen Z, need participation in establishing a safe future for Pakistan.
