Financing approved through the Prime Minister's Apna Ghar Program climbed 245 percent to reach Rs. 511 billion since June 2026, stated Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad.
Schehzad wrote on X that approved funds under this affordable housing initiative grew from Rs. 148 billion in June up to Rs. 511 billion by October 23, 2026.
During this same timeframe, actual disbursements climbed at an even quicker rate of 333 percent, going from Rs. 21 billion to Rs. 91 billion.
Approval Rate Rises to 40 Percent
Financial institutions gathered 217,001 total applications for the initiative based on data released by the advisor, with 86,896 of those applications accepted and 15,584 housing loans paid out.
The rate of approval went up by 12 percentage points, moving from 28 percent in June to 40 percent.
"More financing. More families closer to owning their homes," Schehzad said in his post.
Gap Between Approvals and Disbursements
Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, led the sixth session of the Access to Finance Steering Committee where these numbers were reviewed.
The committee observed the advancements in housing finance and talked about ways to accelerate disbursements while tackling housing supply limits, which involves builder financing and under-construction projects.
Even with quicker growth in payouts, roughly 18 percent of the approved funds, equaling Rs. 91 billion out of Rs. 511 billion, has actually been delivered to borrowers.
The initiative has accelerated over recent months, following an August report from ProPakistani showing housing finance under the prime minister scheme had grown 94 percent, with authorities aiming to finance 150,000 homes by June 2027.
