The State Bank of Pakistan rolled out SMEConnect on smeconnect.sbp.org.pk, a centralized online portal built to ease financing access for small and medium enterprises nationwide by letting companies apply through a single hub.
Users can monitor their loan requests live and check specific rejection reasons on the system. A live dashboard gives the central bank instant data covering submitted, processed, approved, disbursed, and rejected requests across individual lenders and the entire industry.
Starting November 1, 2026, every small and medium enterprise financing request must go through SMEConnect. Lenders will redirect applicants who visit bank branches or websites to the portal. The central bank ordered financial institutions to feature the link prominently online and train employees to assist business owners, while a tutorial video is hosted on the site.
The system seeks to boost transparency and efficiency in business lending while backing financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and broad economic expansion.
