More than 240 women in Quetta are taking part in vocational courses offered by the newly launched Youth Vocational Skills Training Programme, a Balochistan government effort that seeks to train over 720 young people in the city.
The scheme delivers technical and vocational instruction that matches modern industry needs, with a special emphasis on women. It is intended to help participants secure jobs or launch their own enterprises, cut unemployment and foster economic self-reliance.
Available courses currently cover beauty services, hand embroidery and other vocational trades. The training is hands-on, enabling participants to find work or start small businesses after they finish.
The provincial government expects the programme to lift employment chances, strengthen women's economic independence and spur entrepreneurship among young people throughout the province.
